New Delhi: Rajasthan Royals’ Riyan Parag became the first batter to score six consecutive sixes in an Indian Premier League match. The right hander achieved the remarkable feat in Rajasthan’s IPL 2025 away game against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens.
Parag blasted Moeen Ali for five successive sixes starting with the second ball of the 13th over and then smacked the second ball of the 14th over, bowled by Varun Chakravarthy over the fence to complete the set.
In doing so, the stand-in captain of Rajasthan surpassed Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard and Rinku Singh, who had all had hit five consecutive sixes. Curiously, all these instances of six-hitting came in the second innings of matches.
Rajasthan were in trouble after being reduced to 71/5 in the eighth over in their chase of 207 runs. Three of their frontline batters were dismissed without scoring.

Parag then took it upon himself to effect a turnaround alongside Shimron Hetmyer. In the 13th over, Parag turned the game on its head with five sixes on the trot off Moeen Ali in the 13th over, of which 32 runs were scored.
In the first ball of the next over bowled by Varun Chakaravarthy, Hetmyer took a single to give back the strike to Parag. In the second delivery of the over, Parag switch hit the ball over deep backward point for another maximum, completing the remarkable feat of six successive sixes in the IPL for the first time.
RR lose by one run
But despite Parag’s best efforts, Rajasthan lost the match by one run. Parag was dismissed after a 45-ball 95, his best score in the tournament.
The Assam-born Parag struck eight sixes and six fours but RR fell a run shot of their 207-run target. The win kept KKR’s hope of qualifying for the play-offs alive as they moved to the sixth spot with 11 points from 11 games.
Rajasthan were down in the eight position with 6 points from 12 matches and are already eliminated from the race for the last four slots.
