The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Tuesday that the United States has warned Israel of imminent missile fire from Iran. Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, the IDF spokesperson, said that U.S. intelligence identified preparations by Iran for a potential attack on Israel, though no missiles have been launched as of now.
“A short while ago, our American allies updated us that they identify preparations by Iran for imminent missile fire at the State of Israel,” Hagari said in a public statement. He assured the public that Israel is prepared to deal with the threat, as it has in the past.
“We’ve dealt with this threat in the past, and we’ll deal with it now,” he emphasized.
Israel at ‘Highest Readiness’
In response to the potential threat, Hagari urged Israelis to follow the updated Home Front Command guidelines for safety and preparedness. He reassured the public that the IDF is fully prepared to defend the country, with both defensive and offensive capabilities ready to be deployed.
“The Air Force is patrolling the skies,” Hagari said, underscoring that Israel’s military is on high alert and prepared for any developments. “We are at the highest readiness — offensive and defensive,” he added, highlighting that Israel is closely coordinating with the United States.
A Stern Warning to Iran
Hagari warned that any missile fire from Iran would be met with consequences, stressing that Israel has both plans and capabilities to respond. “Iranian fire on the State of Israel will have consequences,” he warned, adding, “We have plans and we have capabilities.”
Both Israel and the U.S. are monitoring the situation closely, watching for any further developments from Iran. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has asked people to strictly follow the instructions of Home Front Command. While the situation remains tense, Israel’s defense forces are prepared to act swiftly if needed.
US’ embassy in Jerusalem has issued a security warning to its staff, urging them to take shelter with their family members, until further notice.
As the threat continues to loom, Israeli officials are urging the public to stay informed and follow all security instructions.
