Israel Bombs Sites in Yemen, Days After Drone Attack on Tel Aviv; Houthis ‘Vow’ Revenge | What Next?

New Delhi: Days after Yemen’s Houthi Rebels-led drone attack resulted in an explosion inside a building near the United States Embassy which left 1 person daed and at least 10 injured, Israel Defence Forces launched a big retaliatory attack on the former. As per media reports three pepole have been killed and over 80 have sustained injuries in the attack on Houthi military targets near Yemen’s Hodeidah port on Saturday.

In order to give a betting reply to  Iranian-backed Houthis, Israeli fighter jets launched air strikes targeting oil facilities and a power station.

Videos featuring Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi monitoring the retaliatory strike have surfaced.

The IDF launched strike in several miltary sites in Hodeidah. The Israeli strikes appeared to be the first on Yemeni soil since the Israel-Hamas war began in October.

Adresing media following the attacks, PM Benjamin Netanyahu said that the port was targeted as it was used “for military purposes”.

He added that the strike “makes it clear to our enemies that there is no place that the long arm of the state of Israel will not reach”.

Isreal has reiterated that it will not tolerate attack on any of its citizens and they will relatate when required.

Meanwhil, the he Houthis have pleded to “plague” Israel with further attacks in response to the strikes.

Lately, Hodeidah has come under repeated attack by British and US forces. However, in Saturday’s atck, Israel is said to have acted alone.

Meanwhile, deadly strikes inside Gaza on Saturday killed at least 13 people in three Israeli airstrikes that hit refugee camps in central Gaza overnight, according to Palestinian health officials, as cease-fire talks in Cairo appeared to make progress, news agency AP reported.
