Beirut: Hours after issuing an urgent evacuation warning to the people in the region, Israel Defense Forces on Monday said that it launched fresh strikes at weapon depots of Hezbollah militant group in Tyre city of Lebanon.
In a statement, the IDF said that alongside weapons depots, buildings used by the terror group, and observation posts were also targeted.

“The Hezbollah terror organization advanced terror activities against Israeli citizens and IDF troops from these compounds,” the military said.
IDF said that Tyre City is one of the major stronghold areas of Hezbollah militant group.
“Tyre is a major Hezbollah stronghold, especially for the terror group’s Aziz regional unit, from which it plans attacks on Israel,” IDF said.
Hezbollah’s Likely Successor Eliminated
Earlier last week, Israel confirmed that it “eliminated” the apparent successor of slain leader Hassan Nasrallah, Hashem Safieddine, in a strike in Southern Beruits almost three weeks ago.
In a post shared on X, the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) said, “Hashem Safieddine, Head of the Hezbollah Executive Council and Ali Hussein Hazima, Commander of Hezbollah’s Intelligence Headquarters, were eliminated during a strike on Hezbollah’s main intelligence HQ in Dahieh approx. 3 weeks ago.”
According to the IDF, Hashem was ‘;a member of the Shura Council, Hezbollah’s most senior military-political forum, responsible for the decision-making and policy-making in the terrorist organization.’
