Beirut: The Israeli Defense Forces has issued an urgent evacuation warning to residents of large areas of the city of Tyre in Lebanon, as it prepares to conduct airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in the city on Monday.
“Hezbollah’s activity forces the IDF to act in the area you are in. The IDF does not want to harm you,” Col. Avichay Adraee, the IDF’s Arabic-language spokesman posted on X, alongside a map of the areas that will be targeted.

“You must immediately move away from the area marked in red and head north to the Awali River. Anyone who is near Hezbollah personnel, facilities and weapons of Hezbollah is putting their life in danger!” Adraee said,
Hezbollah’s Likely Successor Eliminated
Earlier last week, Israel confirmed that it “eliminated” the apparent successor of slain leader Hassan Nasrallah, Hashem Safieddine, in a strike in Southern Beruits almost three weeks ago.
In a post shared on X, the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) said, “Hashem Safieddine, Head of the Hezbollah Executive Council and Ali Hussein Hazima, Commander of Hezbollah’s Intelligence Headquarters, were eliminated during a strike on Hezbollah’s main intelligence HQ in Dahieh approx. 3 weeks ago.”
According to the IDF, Hashem was ‘;a member of the Shura Council, Hezbollah’s most senior military-political forum, responsible for the decision-making and policy-making in the terrorist organization.’
