The picturesque town of Jaglot

Jaglot is situated at the mouth of Sai Nala and there was a ferry between the place and Bunji in the 19th century. It was the only mode of communication between Kashmir and Gilgit. The place has several fertile lands on which some dozen hamlets were raised, and all of them have merged into Jaglot. The place had strategic importance as it was situated along the route that linked British India to China via the Kashmir region. Today, it is the Pakistan Army’s one of the most important logistical bases. It shot to fame during the Siachen Conflict between India and Pakistan.
