New Delhi: Veteran English cricketer James Anderson is set to return to competitive cricket 10 months after retiring from international cricket. In a good news for the followers of Test cricket, fans would be able to watch their favourite superstar once again as he has been picked by county side Lancashire for their upcoming match against Derbyshire.
Anderson makes his return after missing most of the season due to a calf injury, which kept him away from the game after he bid adieu to the English national side. Anderson bid goodbye to cricket in July 2024 against the West Indies at the iconic Lord’s cricket ground after serving his cricket team with pride. Anderson, who is in awe of red-ball cricket, will be playing for his beloved county side, Lancashire.
Anderson slated to feature in entire season
The legendary pacer was slated to feature in the entire domestic season for his side but missed it due to the severity of his injury. The calf injury kept the veteran pacer away from the previous five matches of Lancashire. The county team, which is struggling at the bottom of the table in the county championship, Division Two, having suffered a defeat in one game and drawn four of them, would be happy with the coming of the quality seamer.
