New Delhi: India’s pace spreadhead Jasprit Bumrah continues to rise high in the ICC Test rankings as he has maintained his position atop the bowling charts. Further growing up, the lethal pacer has improved his tally by one point and now sits on the top position with 908 rating points in the latest list released on Wednesday.
Earlier, the ace Indian pacer scripted history ahead of the fifth and final Test match against Australia by registering the highest-ever ICC ranking ratings for an Indian bowler at 907 points. Bumrah would have further increased but a back spasm ruled him out of the final innings of the Sydney Test match.
Ravindra Jadeja in top-10
Left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja has climbed one position to take the joint-ninth spot in the rankings and becomes the second India to give company to the ace pacer in the top 10 list. Jadeja share the ninth position with Australian pacer Scott Boland, who has made a remarkable jump of 29 places to enter into the top 10 list.
The Australia bowler’s stellar performance in the last Test match at Sydney, where he took a 10-wicket haul (4/31 and 6/45) helped him get into the top 10 list. His efforts helped Australia secure the the series 3-1. Australian captain Pat Cummins also made gains in the latest rankings, climbing to number two spot after claiming a five-wicket haul for the final match. South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada jumped a spot to occupy the third place while injured Josh Hazlewood moved down two places to be fourth.
Meanwhile in the batting charts, Rishabh Pant’s fiery knock of 61 runs in the second innings of the SCG Test helped him earn three places as he moved to number nine while Yashasvi Jaiswal retained his fourth spot. Kyle Verreynne’s impressive hundred saw him rise four places to secure the 25th spot.
