Joe Biden diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer; may have ‘next 2 months’ to live

New Delhi: Former President of the United States of America Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, which has spread to his bones. An official announcement on Sunday confirmed the same, and current US President Donald Trump’s ally Laura Loomer said on Monday that the 82-year-old ‘could very well die in the next 2 months.’ The statement that confirmed Biden’s diagnosis confirmed that it was detected after he sought medical support for urinary problems, thereby helping doctors identify a prostate nodule.

Despite the severity of the diagnosis, Biden’s tumour is said to be hormone sensitive, which enables a more effective treatment. The statement noted that this is a more aggressive form of cancer, and its hormone sensitivity makes it manageable with proper medical intervention. Biden and his family are working with the medical team to come up with an appropriate treatment strategy.

What is prostate cancer?

Prostate cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer diagnosed in American men. This disease develops in the prostate gland, a small gland which is part of the male reproductive system and helps produce semen. It is one of the most common forms of cancer in men, and it often grows slowly, which is why timely detection is a must for management of the disease and to boost chances of survival.

What do aggressive prostate cancers mean?

Aggressive prostate cancer is described by ascertaining the Gleason score, a parameter that helps describe how prostate cancers look under a microscope. 9 and 10 refer to the most aggressive group, and it is also known as Grade Group 5. Doctors have confirmed that Biden’s cancer has been assigned a Gleason score of 9 and which is the highest level indicating abnormality in cancer cells. Earlier, Biden’s elder son, Beau Biden, passed away due to cancer in 2025.

Despite the severity of the diagnosis, Joe Biden’s tumour is said to be hormone sensitive, which enables a more effective treatment. The statement noted that this is a more aggressive form of cancer, and its hormone sensitivity makes it manageable with proper medical intervention.  Health News Health News: Latest News from Health Care, Mental Health, Weight Loss, Disease, Nutrition, Healthcare
