Joe Biden’s Latest Gaffe, Calls Himself as ‘First Black Woman President’— Here’s What He Meant

Washington (US): In another series of embarrassment, US President Joe Biden called himself a “black woman” and stated that he felt honoured to serve with a “black president” (Barack Obama) during a radio interview as the US celebrated Independence Day on July 4.

Amidst a sequence of gaffes by the US President, who faces intense scrutiny following a poor showing in the presidential debate, the United States commander-in-chief stumbled during an interview with Philadelphia’s WURD radio station, confusing himself with Vice President Kamala Harris.

Biden Calls himself “Black Woman”

“By the way, I’m proud to be, as I said, the first vice-president, first black woman… to serve with a black president,” he said, while remembering his own time serving as vice-president for Barack Obama.

However, what he may have intended to convey was that he joined hands with Kamala Harris, who was elected as the first Black Vice President in 2020, and with Barack Obama, who became the first Black US President in 2008.

Earlier during the fourth of July celebrations he also called former US President Donald Trump as his “colleague”.

Biden’s Post Debate Crisis

Meanwhile, Democrats are working to reshape perceptions about President Joe Biden after he delivered a poor debate performance against Donald Trump. It has left his voters worried and his party in a damage-control mode.

During the debate, Biden was tripping over his words or trailed off mid-answer. Voices have amplified over concerns about his age and fitness to carry out a second presidential term.

The 2024 United States elections are scheduled to be held later in November this year.
