Jofra Archer’s decade-old tweet viral after India bundled out for 46 vs New Zealand

New Delhi: It was not the best of the starts for the Indian cricket team on the second day of the first Test match against New Zealand as they succumbed badly against the visitors. India were all out for a paltry score of 46 runs in the second session of play as the Kiwis made full use of the wicket, leaving the hosts in shock in Bengaluru.

Opting to bat first, which is definitely a bad call, India lost the wickets of skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and youngster Sarfaraz Ahmed quickly. The remaining wickets fell at regular intervals as the hosts were bundled out inside 32 overs, with just Rishabh Pant (20) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (13) scoring in double digits. This was India’s third lowest total in Tests overall and the lowest in a home Test.

India’s dismal run after trumping Bangladesh

India emerged victorious emphatically in the Test series against Bangladesh before the Kiwi challenge, clinching both the matches for a series sweep. While the Men in Blue were riding high on confidence and were expected to put up a dominant show against the Black Caps, the unexpected happened. Just two batters in the entire set up were able to register double digits and rest of the players, including biggies like Rohit, Kohli and Rahul.

New Zealand had secured a lead of over 134 runs with seven wickets in hand when bad light stopped play leading to stumps being called early. For India, it will be difficult to to regather the momentum and bounce back in the Test match unless some miracle follows them.

The star-studded Indian batting line up including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul among others failed to deliver on the second day of the first Test match against New Zealand.  Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
