Buttler registers unwanted feat

Star batter Jos Buttler became the first English wicketkeeper-batter to get dismissed in the 90s in T20I cricket. In the overall list, he is the fourth English batter to have fallen in the nineties in the shortest format of cricket. Buttler joined the likes of fellow English players Alex Hales, Eoin Morgan and Jonny Bairstow in the unwanted list.

In the T20Is, the right hander has a good record under his belt as he has amassed a total of 3631 runs in as many as 135 matches. It includes a century, his only one, that came against Sri Lanka and the 96-run knock against the West Indies is his second highest score in the shortest format.

Meanwhile, the defence for England wasn’t that easy as the West Indies reached 167 runs but were unable to cross the finish line despite a good effort from their batters. English bowler Liam Dawson, who was adjudged the Player of the Match, made the difference in the innings with a fantastic four wicket haul while Matthew Potts and Jacob Bethell also contributed with two wickets apiece. The next match of the series will be played on Sunday.
