New Delhi: Jos Buttler has stepped down as the skipper of England’s white-ball team just a day ahead of their last group clash against South Africa in the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025. This decision comes in wake of England’s dismal run in the ongoing ICC event, where their lost both their league matches and were knocked out of the competition subsequently.

England just have a dead rubber to play against the Proteas before their fly back to their home country after a disappointing run in then tournament and the 34-year-old Buttler will lead the side for the last time. The English side lost against Australia and Afghanistan in their league games. England, despite a tremendous performance against the Aussies, narrowly went down in the game by 5 wickets while in the Afghanistan match, the fate was quite similar.
