Abhaya’s Mother Pens Emotional Letter, Seeks Support from Society
Abhaya’s mother wrote an emotional letter on Teachers’ Day, seeking the society’s support in their fight for justice. She talked about her daughter and her dream of becoming a doctor. She said that her daughter’s dreams were strangled.
The letter reads, “Through the letter, she has sought support from the society in the fight for justice. On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, September 5, she wrote in the letter, ‘I am the mother of the poor deceased… Today on Teachers’ Day, I salute all the teachers on behalf of my daughter. Since childhood, her dream was to become a doctor. You were the driving force behind that dream. ‘She further said that we have been with her as her guardians, she herself worked very hard. But I think, because she got good teachers like you, she was able to fulfill her dream of becoming a doctor.’
Then came the matter of degree, my daughter used to say, ‘Mom, I don’t need money, I just want a lot of degrees in front of my name and I want to cure as many patients as possible. ‘Referring to the day of the incident, she further said, “Even on that day when she went out of the house, she had served many patients in the hospital. During duty, the miscreants killed her and her dreams were brutally strangled. The dream of becoming a gold medalist in MD written that night is still incomplete. Even after this heinous incident, full preparations were made by the hospital administration and officials to erase all the evidence.”
The mother of the deceased wrote in the last part of the letter, “Being a mother, it is a humble request to all the teachers, doctors, health officials, nursing staff of the medical college that if you have any information and evidence, please bring it forward because I feel that the silence of some good people boosts the morale of the criminals. With the message of standing with the movement of the medical society and the common people and on Teacher’s Day, everyone.”
