New Delhi: Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated season 2 of Madhya Pradesh League in Gwalior on Thursday. Addressing the players and organisers during the program, Scindia said that cricket is ingrained in every person today. It is not just a game, but it is the spirit of connecting crores of people in the country with each other. Further, the Union Minister said that I am feeling a new energy by participating in this event.
Scindia recalled his childhood days and told how he had the opportunity to communicate with great cricketers from all over the world, along with his late father Madhavrao Scindia ji. He said that a lot has changed in cricket from then till today. During this, he praised the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association for the successful organisation of MPL.

MPL gave a new direction to empowerment by adding women’s teams
Addressing the inaugural program of MPL, Scindia said that this time by including women’s teams in the event, MPL has taken an important step towards women’s empowerment. I am confident that all five men’s teams and all three women’s teams will create a new history this time on the basis of their sports performance. Scindia said that today, with the strengthening of sports infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh, people’s interest and participation in sports is continuously increasing.
‘MPL is like a launchpad’: Scindia
Describing the Madhya Pradesh League as a launchpad, Scindia said that this is an event where members of the IPL selectors’ team also come here to see the performance of the players. The biggest example of which is that last year 11 players of MPL were selected for IPL. Scindia said that Madhya Pradesh is the first and only state in the country where we have started MPL first. Let us tell you, all the cricket matches of MPL starting from June 12 will be played at the world-class Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior.
