Mumbai: Good news for Lord Shiva devotees! The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is set to resume this summer after discussions between India and China, marking a significant step in commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations. This development followed Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri’s visit to China from January 26 to 27.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) highlighted the agreement to resume the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in 2025, with mechanisms in place to determine its modalities under existing contracts.
The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025 is a spiritual pilgrimage organised by the Government of India, offering devotees the opportunity to visit Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar in Tibet. This pilgrimage attracts devotees who seek divine blessings at Mount Kailash, revered as the abode of Lord Shiva, and Lake Mansarovar, a symbol of purity. The 2025 Yatra promises to be a transformative journey of faith, endurance, and devotion.
The Yatra is spiritually and physically challenging, involving high-altitude trekking. Organised by the Government of India, the Yatra involves meticulous planning to ensure the safety and comfort of participants. Prospective pilgrims must meet strict eligibility criteria, undergo medical tests, and participate in a fair computerised selection process. Here’s a comprehensive guide on who can apply, how the selection is conducted, and the steps to submit your application.

Selected or wait-listed applicants must confirm their participation by depositing a non-refundable amount of Rs 5,000 in favour of ‘Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam Limited,’ payable in Delhi, within the specified deadline. The remaining balance will be payable later.
