Washington: The Democratic National Convention is starting today, on August 19 and will continue for the next four days.
This will be the first formal party event for Kamala Harris after she was elected as the Democratic Presidential Nominee.

The Democratic National Convention is starting today in Chicago and will be attended by at least 50,000 visitors which includes 4,000 delegates.
The official schedule of the convention has not yet been released but the officials have confirmed the presence of President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden.
Democratic National Convention Theme, Schedule
The theme for the Democratic National Convention is, ‘For our people, for our future’. According to the officials, speakers will be paying a tribute to current US President Joe Biden on Monday.
An official schedule is yet to be out but it is expected that on Tuesday, former President Barack Obama will address the conbention and will focus on ‘A bold vision for the future’.
On Wednesday, former President Bill Clinton and Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi of California will speak under ‘A fight for freedom’ theme.
The other speakers include Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.
Kamala Harris’ First Formal Appearance with Party at DNC
On Thursday, Kamala Harris will give a speech on the theme ‘For the future’ and will formally be accepting her presidential nomination.
The current US Vice President will be arriving for the convention after a bus tour across Pennsylvania; she will also be holding a rally in Milwaukee on Tuesday.
