New Delhi: It was a sweet reunion in Bengaluru as former India head coach Rahul Dravid was seen catching up with Team India stars Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant during the Indian team’s training session. The Indian players are currently in Bengaluru, preparing for the upcoming 1st Test of the three-match series against New Zealand.
India will be heading into the Test series against New Zealand on the back of a dominant 2-0 clean sweep against Bangladesh at home. Rohit Sharma & Co. thrashed Bangladesh by 280 runs in the first Test in Chennai before beating them by 7 wickets in the 2nd and final Test match in Kanpur to register a whitewash and continue their dominance at home.
As India prepare to host New Zealand in a three-match Test series starting Wednesday, October 16, Dravid was seen having a chat with Rohit, Kohli and Pant on the sidelines of the team’s preparations in Bengaluru. The trio was part of the Indian squad that won the T20 World Cup 2024 title earlier this year in what was Dravid’s last tournament for India as the team’s head coach.
A video of Dravid’s heartwarming reunion with the Team India stars captured the attention of fans on social media, leaving them nostalgic. Dravid helped India end their decade-long ICC trophy drought with their memorable triumph in the T20 World Cup 2024.

India look to continue domination against New Zealand
After their clinical show against Bangladesh, India will look to continue their dominance at home when they take on New Zealand in the three-match series starting Wednesday. India are currently on the top of the World Test Championship (WTC) points table and a 3-0 clean sweep against New Zealand will all but confirm their spot in the final of the competition next year.
India have named a strong squad for the Test series against New Zealand. Jasprit Bumrah has not been rested for the series and has been appointed as the vice-captain of the team and will also spearhead the team’s pace attack in the absence of Mohammed Shami, who is yet to return from injury.
