New Delhi: An important update for credit card users of Kotak Mahindra Bank. The bank is charging an additional 1% charge on selected credit cards from 1st June if the limit on fuel transactions is exceeded. The change will affect those who spend more on their fuel with their credit card. However, exemptions from the extra levy have been granted by the company to premium and co-branded cards. Apart from this, the bank has also changed the rules related to fuel surcharge waivers.
Kotak Credit Card
The bank has exempted some special cards from this new 1% charge. Such cards include White Reserve, Kotak Solitaire, Kotak Infinite, Kotak Signature, IndianOil Kotak Credit Card, and Myntra Kotak Credit Card. The above-mentioned cardholders will not have to pay additional charges on fuel transactions even after June 1.
According to the new rules, if a monthly fuel expense exceeds the prescribed limit, a 1% charge will be levied. The limit is Rs 50,000 for White Signature, Privy League Signature, and Kotak IndiGo 6E XL Rewards cards. On the other hand, for cardholders of Mojo Platinum, Zen Signature, Royale Kotak Signature, PVR INOX, 6E Rewards IndiGo Kotak, Kotak BIZ, and NRI Royale Signature cards, the limit has been kept at Rs 35,000.
Changes in surcharge
Kotak Mahindra Bank has also changed the existing terms and conditions of the fuel surcharge waiver, which will be effective from June 1, 2025. This means that now customers will have to follow new conditions to get a surcharge waiver, which will depend on the type of card. Customers can check the information on the bank’s official website or mobile app to know these terms.
