Laila Khan’s murder: Stepfather sentenced to death 13 years after actress was shot dead

13 years after the murder of actress Laila Khan and five other members of the family, a Mumbai court on Friday, 24 May, 2024, sentenced her mother’s third husband and actress stepfather Parvez Tak to death. The family were reported missing on February 7, 2011.

Before the family members went missing, the Khans were spotted with Tak, Laila’s mother’s third husband, in Igatpuri. The police had suspected that he murdered them as he wanted to capture their properties, including a flat and a shop in Oshiwara, another flat in Mira Road, and the farmhouse in Igatpuri, along with jewellery and cash. Laila Khan’s mother Shelina’s second husband Asif Shaikh had alleged that Tak wanted to push Laila and her sisters to prostitution.
