New Delhi: Lenny Yoro is back in the Manchester United’s squad, making his debut with the club in the Premier League having sustained injury during the pre-season friendlies in the United States, coincidentally against Arsenal. Yoro had signed with Manchester United during July 2024 coming from Lille.
Before the game, Manchester United’s new manager had expressed his excitement on seeing Yoro’s return and labelled the French international as a special talent. Yoro will be returning to action, having resumed his training in October. The 19-year-old underwent surgery on foot in early August.

Amorim had noted that Yoro was in good shape and was likely to make his debut in the midweek fixtures. Further the 39-year-old manager noted that Yoro was a “fast modern defender” and would be useful when the game required them to press high. The Frenchman had himself hinted through his social media earlier at a chance of making a competitive debut for Man United. Before moving with United, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, and Real Madrid had shown interest in Yoro.
During Yoro’s signing, the club’s sporting director, Dan Ashworth, echoed similar views to Amorim and called the former Lille player “one of the most exciting defenders in the world.” For now, Amorim has said he will be careful with Yoro’s workload and will monitor closely the minutes he is playing as he didn’t want the defender to be pressurised.
Coming into the game, Amorim is in good rhythm with United, having remained undefeated in the three games he has been in charge of the side. After starting his reign with a 1-1 draw over Ipswich Town, Amorim has won twice across the competition. In Sunday’s clash, United won 4-0 against Everton, with Joshua Zirkzee and Marcus Rashford scoring a brace each.
Leny Yoro is set to make his first competitive appearance for Manchester United after being named in the squad for the first time since August. Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
