New Delhi: Former UFC Welterweight champion Leon Edwards has revealed his goals for 2025. The first goal of Edward is to reclaim his welterweight title by the end of 2025. Edwards lost his title against Belal Muhammad at UFC 304 in July 2024. It was the first loss for Edwards in the last nine years.
Edwards claimed that he hated losing more than he loved winning. He also planned to become a two-time Welterweight champion in the UFC.
My goal right now is to obviously get the belt back. I’d like to be champion again around this time next year. So, just putting steps in place. I haven’t lost a fight in like nine years. So, I was getting used to that feeling again. I feel like I hate losing more than I love winning. Leon Edwards spoke about his plans.
The Englishman has a great record in the UFC as he is 22-4 and only lost a single fight in the last nine years. He also defeated Kamaru Usman to win the title when he was the number 1 pound-for-pound champion.
You know there’s not much you can do now. Just move on from that and put it behind you. For me, it’s more about what’s next and how do you get back to where you want to get to. My goal is to be a two-time world champion.” Edwards added.
Edwards will look to make his comeback early in 2025 and will go straightaway for his rematch against Belal. There are no plans revealed for Edwards by UFC president Dana White.
