New Delhi: Lionel Messi is one of the most decorated footballers in the world, having won the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar winning against France in the final through penalty shootout. Aside from this, he has won eight Ballon d’Or as well as 45 titles with his team, including four Champions League and two Copa Americas.

Over his long span of career, Messi has enjoyed great support from India, especially from Kerala. Which is ever since it was announced that Argentina are visiting India in the latter part of 2025, there has been a lot of buzz around the 37-year-old’s arrival in the squad. Kerala’s sports minister V. Abdurahiman has announced the provisional dates for La Albiceleste’s visit to the country.

Recently, Abdurahiman revealed that Lionel Messi will be in Kerala for a week between 25th October and November 2nd of this year to take part in a friendly game. The dates though are being deemed to be imprecise. The game is supposed to happen during the FIFA international break so that most players are able to take part.

There are only two windows available during this period which happens to be between October 6th to 14th and again between November 10th to 18th. It is expected that the dates will eventually be shifted in this timeframe. Messi is currently playing for Inter Miami for the MLS team and is currently on the verge of preparing for a new season to commence.

Messi will be returning to the country after 14 years having previously visited India with his national team in 2011. Argentina played a friendly match with Venezuela in the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata. Argentina had registered a 1-0 win with Nicolas Otamendi scoring the only goal of the match.

He is currently the second highest goal scorer with 850 goals in his career behind Protgual’s Cristiano Ronaldo. He has a record of most European Golden Shoes, taking the title on six occasions. For Barcelona, he has recorded the most goals for a single team scoring 672 times.

Lionel Messi is set to return to India with Argentina team in Kerala after 14 years having already played for La Albiceleste in 2011 at the Salt Lake Stadium Kolkata.  Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
