New Delhi: Luis Enrique has extended his stay at Paris Saint-Germain after signing a new contract until 2027. The 54-year-old joined in July 2023 and guided the club to a Ligue 1 title, French Cup, and Trophee des Champions in his first season. He also took PSG to the Champions League semi-finals, where they fell short against Borussia Dortmund. His previous contract was set to expire in 2025, but the club has now secured his future for another two years.
The Spaniard expressed his happiness, saying he feels “very comfortable” at PSG and believes “the future looks very bright.” Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi also praised him for driving “great progression and cultural change” in a short time.
PSG secure key players with new contracts
Alongside Luis Enrique’s extension, PSG announced new deals for four key players: Achraf Hakimi, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and Yoram Zague. Hakimi, Mendes, and Vitinha are now tied to the club until 2029, while Zague’s contract runs until 2028. The club also handed first professional deals to young talents Ibrahim Mbaye, 17, and Naoufel El Hannach, 18, both signing until 2027.
This move reflects PSG’s long-term strategy of building a squad for the future. Since Enrique took charge, the club has shifted focus towards younger players. Last summer, PSG signed Joao Neves, Desire Doue, and Willian Pacho, all under 23, to strengthen the squad after Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Sergio Ramos left.
PSG have been dominant in Ligue 1 again this season, leading by 13 points at the top. They have also secured a place in the Champions League knockout play-offs, where they will face Brest. With Enrique’s leadership and a young core in place, PSG are looking to maintain their domestic dominance and push further in Europe.
Luis Enrique has extended his PSG contract until 2027 after winning a domestic treble. The club also secured long-term deals for key players, reinforcing their commitment to a youthful squad. Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
