New Delhi: The Goa government announced that three special trains will run from Goa to Maha Kumbh, Prayagraj, starting tomorrow, February 6. Dedicated devotees can travel in these trains free of cost. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the first train will leave Margao railway station (in South Goa) at 8 am on February 6.

He said the other two trains will depart Margao on February 13 and 21. Sawant said that each train would carry nearly 1,000 passengers to operate exclusively between Goa and Prayagraj.

State Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Desai said devotees would be provided free of cost with train travel and food en route. “The trains will reach Prayagraj after a journey of 34 hours,” he said.

The minister said that after reaching Prayagraj, the devotees must arrange accommodation and food. After 24 hours, they will need to board the return train.

The trains are being operated as part of the Mukhyamantri Dev Darshan Yojana. He added that people aged 18 to 60 who do not have any major health issues are eligible to travel on these trains.

About Maha Kumbh

The ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj began on January 13 and will continue until February 26. During this Maha Kumbh, there are five Amrit Snans. The first happened on Makar Sankranti (January 14), the second on Mauni Amavasya (January 29), the third on Basant Panchami (February 3), the fourth on Magha Purnima (February 12), and the last on Maha Shivratri (February 26).

 The Goa government offers three special trains to devotees attending the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. Departing from Margao on February 6, 13 and 21, each train will carry approximately 1000 passengers and provide free food en route. Eligibility is limited to those aged 18-60 without major health issues. The trip is a 34-hour journey, with return travel scheduled 24 hours after arrival.
