Maharashtra Budget bonanza! Rs 1,500 monthly support for women; 3 free gas cylinders

Mumbai: The Maharashtra Budget announcement by state deputy CM and finance minister Ajit Pawar entailed benefits for women aged 21-60 years of age with a monthly allowance of Rs 1,500 under the “Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. Pawar also announced that the government will distribute 3 free gas cylinders per year to families of 5 eligible for the Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana. Eligibility for the women’s monthly allowance scheme will start from July 2024.

Pawar also announced power bill waiver for 44 lakh farmers in Maharashtra.
Pawar has also allocated Rs 80 crore towards the distribution of pink e-rickshaws to 10,000 women in 17 cities.
The state finance minister also allocated Rs 36 crore for Pandharpur Dindi to aid them in pilgrimage, with each pilgrim set to receive Rs 20,000.

Maharashtra petrol, diesel price cut

The government announced petrol and diesel tax cuts in Brihanmumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai areas. The state will cut taxes in some areas to 25 per cent per litre from 26 per cent per litre earlier. This is likely to make diesel Rs 2.07 per litre cheaper in Mumbai, Thane as well as Navi Mumbai.  Meanwhile, Petrol prices are likely to come down by 65 paise per litre in these 3 areas.

The Maharashtra finance minister also announced a Rs 15,000 crore solar project for uninterrupted power supply to be made available to 8.50 lakh farmers.

The Chief Minister’s Youth Training Scheme for 1 million youth will provide on-the-job training every year apart from Rs 10,000 tuition per trainer per month.
