Major overhaul, 18 IPS officers transferred in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: Tamil Nadu government has transferred 18 IPS officers including Asra Garg, IPS, who was heading Armstrong murder investigation has been appointed as Chennai’s IG-North Zone, while KS Narenthiran Nayar is appointed as the North Chennai Additional Commissioner of the Greater Chennai Police.

Tambaram Police commissioner Amalraj, IPS has been appointed as ADGP of Enforcement Bureau and Abin Dinesh Modak, IPS has been appointed in the place of Amalraj. Additional Commissioner of Police of South Chennai Prem Anand Sinha is appointed as the IGP of the South Zone based in Madurai. IGP N Kannan is posted as the new Additional Commissioner of Police of South Chennai.

IGP, CB-CID TS Anbu will hold additional charge as the CB-CID chief, as the premier investigation agency is probing the Kallakurichi Hooch Tragedy that claimed 65 lives last month. Abhin Dinesh Modak IPS (Tamil Nadu – 1997) presently ADGP, SCRB, Chennai, has been transferred and posted as Tambaram city police commissioner.

IGP S Lakshmi is posted as the Tiruppur City Police Commissioner while IGP Praveen Kumar Abhinapu is posted as the Salem City Police Commissioner.

Sandeep Mittal has been appointed as Additional DGP Cyber ​​Crime, Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal as ADGP Armed Forces, Sanjay Kumar as ADGP Coast Guard and Rajiv Kumar as ADGP Crime Against Women and Children.

Venkataraman has been appointed as ADGP in the Office of the Superintendent of Police, Chennai. CBCID IG TS Anbu has also been given the charge of Chennai CBCID ADGP.

The decision comes days after the brutal murder of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) state president Armstrong’s murder in Chennai. The DMK-led Tamil Nadu government had earlier transferred few IAS officers. Subsequently, 18 IPS officers have been transferred in Tamil Nadu now.
