New Delhi: Manchester United have reportedly taken a major step in their pursuit of Victor Osimhen. According to reports, the Premier League giants have agreed to pay Napoli the £65 million release clause to sign the Nigerian striker this summer. However, they face strong competition from Paris Saint-Germain, who are also keen on securing his services.
Sports Digitale claims that both clubs have already made verbal offers to Osimhen’s representatives regarding contract terms and salary. While no deal is confirmed yet, Napoli appear set to lose their star striker at the end of the season.
Victor Osimhen has been one of the most sought-after forwards in European football, and with two of the biggest clubs in the world ready to trigger his release clause, his future is now a major talking point.

Osimhen’s release clause was recently reduced from £100 million to £65 million following his loan move to Galatasaray. The Turkish club were initially seen as favourites to land the striker permanently, but financial constraints have made that impossible. Now, with both United and PSG willing to pay the full fee, Galatasaray have accepted defeat in their pursuit of the prolific forward.
According to reports, a Real Madrid player is also involved in brokering Victor Osimhen’s next move, assisting him in signing with a world-famous agency. This development has further decreased the chances of the Nigerians staying in Turkey beyond the summer.
Osimhen was heavily linked with Chelsea last summer when Napoli put him up for sale after a falling out with the club’s management. However, despite interest from both Chelsea and PSG, no deal materialised, leading to his temporary move to Galatasaray. Despite leaving Serie A, Osimhen has maintained his goalscoring form, netting 17 times in 23 appearances for the Turkish club.
Manchester United’s interest in Victor Osimhen is driven by their long-term need for a top striker, while PSG are also looking to strengthen their attack. With both clubs reportedly ready to pay his release clause, a summer transfer battle is now on the cards.
