Manoj Bajpayee, Shah Rukh Khan shared cigarettes during theatre days | Know why

New Delhi: Bollywood actors Manoj Bajpayee and Shah Rukh Khan began their showbiz journeys decades back in Delhi when they were part of the same theatre group. At that time, the duo was not only trying hard to make it as actors but also dealing with tight finances.

Recently, in an interview, Manoj revealed that he and SRK shared cigarettes during their early days. The 55-year-old star told Galatta India that a person can never smoke alone if they are in a theatre group. He added that no one would smoke a cigarette all by themselves because no one could afford it. “So if anyone had one cigarette, they had to share it with four people,” Manoj stated.

He further mentioned that even if he had the money to buy cigarettes, he couldn’t smoke them alone because others had shared with him in the past and now it was his turn to give back. For the unversed, Manoj was part of Barry John’s theatre group for a few years and Shah Rukh was also its member for a short time.
