New Delhi: As the new month sets in from June 1, 2024 there will be all-round changes ranging from credit card rules to rules for securing a driving license. From Aadhaar update to prices of gas cylinders, CNG and piped natural gas, know the financial rules that may kick in from Saturday, June 1, 2024.
Bank holidays
Banks will remain close for 12 days in the month of June starting from June 2, 2024 which is the first Sunday of the month. June has 5 Sundays and 2 alternative Saturdays which will be bank holidays. Apart from this, there are 3 holidays notified by the RBI under the Negotiable Instruments Act. There are 2 other state holidays in June.
Driving license rules
From June 1, 2024, those planning to get a driving license made will not have to visit the Road Transport Organisation (RTO) for this purpose. They can now get their license made from their driving school itself.
Rs 25,000 fine for minor drivers
Starting June 1, 2024, If a minor is caught at the car wheel, they will have to pay a hefty fine of Rs 25,000 and will also be debarred from receiving a licence before the age of 25.
Gas cylinder, CNG and PNG prices
Oil and gas companies often update the price of commercial gas cylinders as well as CNG and PNG on the first of every month.
Aadhaar
UIDAI has fixed June 14, 2024 as the cutoff date for free Aadhaar details update. To be sure, those visiting Aadhaar centres to update their details will have to pay a processing fee.
Amazon Pay ICICI Card
Amazon Pay ICICI cardholders will witness a change in their service rules. They will not be able to earn points for rent payment using the credit card. This rule will kick in from June 18, 2024.
Swiggy HDFC Bank credit card
Swiggy HDFC Bank credit card users will reportedly receive more cashback on spending starting from June 21, 2024, according to people familiar with the matter. The revamped structure is likely to show cashback earned in the credit card account instead of Swiggy Money from June 21, the ET reported.
BOBCard-One co-branded credit card
Bank of Baroda BOBCardOne co-branded card users will have to pay a higher fee if they fail to pay their monthly dues on time starting from June 26, 2024. This new fee will kick in from June 26.
