Masik Shivratri 2024: Each month, the festival of Masik Shivratri is celebrated on the Chaturdashi Tithi of the Krishna Paksha. According to the Panchang, this year, the Chaturdashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Ashadha begins on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at 5:44 AM, and ends the next day on July 5 at 5:57 AM. Based on the Udaya Tithi, Masik Shivratri will be celebrated, and the fast will be observed on July 4, 2024.

Masik Shivratri Puja Rituals
On the day of Masik Shivratri, wake up early in the morning and clean the house thoroughly. After bathing, wear clean clothes. Clean the worship area or home temple meticulously and take a vow for the fast in front of Lord Shiva. Establish a Shivling and the Shiva family, purified with Ganga water, in the temple or worship place. Light incense and lamps, and perform Abhishek (ritual bathing) of the Shivling with Ganga water and milk. Offer Bel leaves, Dhatura, Aak, lotus flowers, sandalwood, Roli, fruits, etc.
Chant Lord Shiva’s mantra Om Namah Shivaya. You can also recite the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, Shiva Stotra, and Shiva Chalisa. Conclude the worship with the aarti of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, and distribute the prasad among family members. End the fast the next day after sunrise. If you are fasting, consume light and sattvic food throughout the day. Stay awake at night and meditate on Lord Shiva. Keep negative thoughts at bay and avoid conflicts.
