New Delhi: Tottenham Hotspur have signed French forward Mathys Tel on a permanent deal from Bayern Munich. The North London club has agreed to pay a fee of £30m for Tel, who will sign a six-year contract when his loan deal ends on 30 June. He joined the Spurs on loan during the January Transfer window.
The agreement gave Tottenham the option to sign him this summer, and the new boss, Thomas Frank, has given the move a green light. Tel has now signed a deal in North London until 2031. He also becomes the first signing of Thomas Frank after being bought to the club by Ange Postecoglou.
The French forward made his debut for Tottenham as a substitute in the Carabao Cup match against Liverpool and then marked his first start with a goal in the FA Cup match against Aston Villa. He made 20 appearances for the Premier League club last season, netting three goals, and was an unused substitute for their Europa League victory over Manchester United in the final.

His arrival in the North London club adds a much-needed depth to Tottenham’s attack, which was heavily impacted by injuries last season. Tel is currently representing France at the 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
He scored 16 goals and provided seven assists in 83 appearances for Bayern Munich but struggled for consistent game time. He will now hope to fulfil his potential in the Premier League. While Tottenham celebrated their Europa League win against Manchester United, their domestic form was terrible last season as they finished 17th in the Premier League.
Tottenham interested in signing Bryan Mbeumo
Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in signing Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo. He scored 20 goals for the Bees in the last season of the Premier League and is a key target for Manchester United. But, the North London club is understood to be hopeful that Frank’s relationship with the player whom he signed in August 2019 from French club Troyes can persuade Mbeumo to change his mind.
Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed their first signing in the Thomas Frank era. The North London club has officially completed the permanent deal for Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich. Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
