New Delhi: Japanese wrestler Meiko Satoruma made her first appearance in the WWE after 500 days as she participated in an Eight-Woman Tag team match at a live event in Osaka on Thursday, July 25.
Satomura held the NXT UK Women’s Championship and showed her skill against the top wrestler in the NXT women’s division. Her last appearance was against Roxanne Perez at NXT Roadblock in March 2023.
Earlier, it was confirmed that Satomura would be making appearances for the WWE in Japan live events. Satomura will be appearing at the live events on July 25th in Osaka at the Edion Arena and on July 26th and 27th at Ryoguko Arena in Tokyo.
She teamed up with Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill and Bayley during the WWE Osaka live event to defeat Damage CTRL and Tiffany Stratton. She competed in the Mae Young Classic in 2018 but did not join the global campaign until 2020. She joined NXT UK as an on-air coach and talent.
Satomura won the NXT UK Championship and held the title for 451 days before losing to former NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose. It is expected that Satomura will be competing in the next two WWE live events and fans will enjoy her presence in both events.
What happened at the WWE SuperShow in Osaka
The top Superstars from both RAW and SmackDown featured in the event as WWE started their three-day tour of Japan with a house show. Apart from Satomura, AJ Styles also made his return to WWE for the first time since losing to Cody Rhodes. Asuka who has been sidelined for the last few due to injury also made an appearance at the event.
