New Delhi: The first session’s play of the first Test match between India and New Zealand in Bengaluru on Wednesday was washed out due to rain. While there was nothing to cheer about for the spectators present at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, a brief moment came in which brought smiles on the faces of the people present in the stands.
Star Indian batter Virat Kohli was spotted at his den along with youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal, taking a stroll near the stands after everyone in the stadium was frustrated with the rain playing the spoilsport. The moment Kohli entered the stadium amid a heavy shower, he was greeted to a rousing reception and a mighty roar was heard which echoed in the entire field which was under covers.

Rain washes out first session
Persistent rain in Bengaluru on Wednesday washed out the entire first session of the first day’s play. When the toss was delayed and it started to rain intermittently after a spell of heavy shower, hopes were raised high that the beginning was shortly on the cards and people would be able to watch the live action soon. But the happiness was short lived as the it began raining again in the city which forced the covers to remain on washing out the entire first session.
As per the latest weather report, there is a possibility of the entire day being washed out while some report also suggest that play could take place for sometime. The weather report also suggests that rain is expected to play a spoilsport for the entire 5 days, putting the fate of the first Test match in danger.
