The “Namaste Trump” event took place on February 24 and 25, 2020, in India. This marked President Donald Trump’s and his family’s first visit to India. A major rally occurred in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, as a follow-up to the “Howdy Modi” event in Houston. Over 100,000 people attended the rally at Motera Stadium (now known as Narendra Modi Stadium), with reports suggesting attendance reached 125,000. The Indian government renamed the event “Kem Chho Trump” to emphasise Indian nationalism. During the visit, Trump and Modi discussed 5G connectivity and trade deals and signed a $3 billion defence agreement.
