New Delhi: Mohamed Salah is having one of the best seasons of his career and he is showing no signs of slowing down. Just days after signing a new Liverpool contract, the Egyptian forward set a new Premier League record in the Reds’ 2-1 win over West Ham United at Anfield.

As the match began, Salah didn’t waste any time making his presence felt on the pitch as he repeatedly got the better of the 19-year-old young defender in the first half and eventually turned that pressure into something special. With a moment of class, Salah whipped in a brilliant cross with the outside of his boot, finding Luis Diaz perfectly for Liverpool’s opening goal.

That assist wasn’t just a treat for the fans rather it was historic as it took Salah’s goal involvements this Premier League season to 45 (27 goals and 18 assists), breaking the previous joint record of 44 held by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and Manchester City striker Erling Haaland in a 38-game campaign.

Salah currently boasts 27 goals and 18 assists in 32 league matches, which is incredible on its own. With six games still left to play, there is a real possibility he could push these even further. But with six games still left to play he is now just one assist away from crossing Mesut Ozil 19 goal record which he made in 2015/16 season and two assists away from matching Henry and Kevin De Bruyne’s record of 20 assists in a single Premier League season and three from setting a new all-time record.

Salah dominating Europe too

Salah’s form isn’t just limited to the Premier League. Across all competitions this season, the 32-year-old has racked up 32 goals and 23 assists in 46 appearances. That’s 55 goal involvements more than any other player across Europe’s top five leagues.

In fact, the only player in the world who has more is Tomoyuki Doi of Singapore’s Geylang International, who has 58 goal involvements this season. Salah’s consistency, fitness, and hunger to deliver for Liverpool have once again put him among the best in the world.

With Liverpool now just six points away from the Premier League title, Salah’s record-breaking form could not have come at a better time. He is not just breaking records rather he is rewriting what it means to be a Premier League great.

The Egyptian king continues to shine with goals and assists as Liverpool are just six points away from Premier League title.    Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
