New Delhi: Mohammad Rizwan equalled the world record for most dismissals in a One-Day International (ODI) match as Australia registered their lowest total against Pakistan in the 50-over format. Rizwan, with six catches, equalled the record for the joint-highest number of dismissals effected by a wicketkeeper in an ODI as Pakistani bowlers ran riot to bundle out the hosts for 163 in 50 overs.
Rizwan is now the second Pakistani wicket-keeper after Sarfaraz Ahmed to achieve the historic feat. The Pakistan skipper is the ninth wicket-keeper to effect six dismissals in a 50-over format match (catches, stumping) with Australia’s Adam Gilchrist the only keeper in the list to claim six dismissals in an ODI match on four occasions.
Rizwan had a golden opportunity to claim the world record but the ace wicket-keeper dropped Adam Zampa in the 34th over. The missed chance cost Rizwan the world record.
Pakistan bowlers breathe fire at Adelaide Oval
Pakistan bowlers were on a mission after a narrow loss in the opening ODI. The fast bowlers complimented their skipper’s decision to bowl first in Adelaide as Shaheen Shah Afridi set the ball rolling with the new ball. The left-arm pacer struck in his second and fourth over dismissing Jake Fraser-McGurk (13) and Matthew Short (19) inside the first five overs.

Steve Smith (35) and Josh Inglis (18) tried to rebuild the innings with a 38-run stand but Haris Rauf destroyed the middle order with a devastating spell.

The home side never really recovered from Rauf’s blistering spell and slumped to their lowest score in ODI cricket against Pakistan.
Rauf was the pick of the bowlers with a spell of 5/29 in 8 overs. Meanwhile, Shaheen Afridi picked up three wickets.
