New Delhi: Team India is gearing up for the second Test match against Bangladesh at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, starting on September 27. The Men in Blue won the first match by 280 runs and led the series by 1-0. The Indian bowlers did a fantastic job after a 199-run partnership between Jadeja and Ashwin.
Rohit and Co. scored 376 runs in the first innings and Indian fast bowlers troubled Bangladeshi batters and got them all out for 149 runs. Jasprit Bumrah picked up 4 wickets while Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj also took two wickets each.
Akash Deep dismissed Zakir Hasan and Mominul Haque on back-to-back deliveries. Deep made his Test debut in February 2024 against England at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi and has played both matches under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.
‘Rohit bhaiya made things so simple’: Akash Deep
Akash Deep praised Indian skipper and said that he had hesitated initially that there would be pressure but Rohit made things so simple for him. He further added that he hadn’t played under such a supportive captain before who keeps things simple on the field.
“I had hesitation initially that there would be pressure, but Rohit bhaiya made things so simple. I haven’t played under such a supportive captain. He keeps things simple, I never felt whether I am playing domestic or international cricket,” Akash Deep said in a press conference.

Akash Deep also said that when he joined Team India he witnessed a different level of dedication and hard work from the players. He further added Virat and Rohit are considered as gods of cricket and have achieved so much but they still work very hard in training.
“When I came here, I witnessed a different level of dedication and hard work from the players who are legends of the game, and considered the gods of cricket like Rohit, Virat bhai. I realised that they have achieved so much and are still working so hard during training. Their thought process is at a different level, this motivates me to work even harder” Deep added.
