Due to the rain, the match was stopped in the first innings itself.
Jabalpur won the toss and decided to bowl first, and their decision was proving quite good. Bhopal, batting first, lost three wickets in the powerplay itself, with just 55 runs on the scoreboard.
Aniket Verma, who came to play the second season of MPL after showing his flair in the Indian Premier League playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, did not have a good start and lost his wicket after hitting a six.
Last season, Aniket had scored the most runs in this league and also hit the most sixes. Bhopal had lost its five wickets at a score of just 90, but Madhav Tiwari took charge in the lower order.
After participating in MPL, Madhav also became a part of the Delhi Capitals in IPL. He scored an unbeaten 31 runs in 20 balls. Bhopal recovered well to score 130 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 16 overs, but the match couldn’t proceed further due to incessant rain.
Even after waiting for more than one and a half hours, when the rain did not allow the match to resume, the match officials decided to abandon it.
Fans were left disappointed as second match of the second edition of the MPL was washed out due to incessant rain in Gwalior. Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
