New Delhi: India and Australia, two giants of world cricket, have produced several great wicket-keepers over the years but none have made a bigger impact than Adam Gilchrist and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Both cricketers have left a lasting legacy that has and will inspire a generation of young cricketers. When two icons come up face to face, it’s natural for fans and experts to make comparisons. Who is better?
But what happens when one of them is put on the spot by forcing to choose between himself and the other one? That’s exactly what happened with Gilchrist who was asked to choose the better wicket-keeper between himself and Dhoni.
In a video that is going viral on social media, Gilchrist played the now famous ‘Who is better’ rapid-fire game. He was first asked to choose between Sri Lankan icon Romesh Kaluwitharana, England’s Matt Prior and Pakistan legend Moin Khan.
After choosing the former twice, Gilchrist picked Zimbabwe legend Andy Flower over Kaluwitharana, England’s Jack Russell, South Africa’s Mark Boucher and his compatriot Ian Healy. Flower’s run was ended by Dhoni, who then won the contest as Gilchrist chose the legendary Indian wicket-keeper over himself as the best wicket-keeper in the history of cricket.
