New Delhi: Driven by a strong commitment to fostering India’s emergence as a leading Sports Nation, TV9 Network has launched multiple initiatives to actively promote sports culture across the country. The organisation had earlier organised the Corporate Football Cup and the Indian Tigers and Tigresses football tournament. After successfully organising two tournaments, the organisation is now planning to organise a Badminton Championship. This tournament will be organised with the aim of providing a valuable opportunity to corporate employees, helping them navigate the growing challenges in their demanding professional lives.

The tournament is being organised with the support of former Indian badminton player Pullela Gopichand. The event promises to be a thrilling three-day display, running from May 9 to 11 at the renowned Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy in Hyderabad.

Aim of the competition

Corporate employees face a lot of physical and mental challenges, and this competition will offer them a much-needed break from their busy lives, giving them a chance to showcase their talents. The main objective behind organising this competition is to promote health and cooperation within the corporate sector. The event will also give employees an opportunity to build professional networks in an informal and fun setting.

Who can participate?

The tournament will be played in a round-robin format, which means each registered team will play against every other team. Pre-registration is required, and interestingly, two corporate companies can even come together to form a combined team.

To motivate employees, business executives, and other staff in their multinational corporations, each company’s HR department can help facilitate participation. There is, however, one condition for eligibility: the participating company should be at least two years old and have a minimum of ten employees. Registration can be completed at www.news9corporatecup.com. For any questions, you can reach out via email at corporatecup@tv9.com.

Participation categories

The tournament will feature an open category that includes men’s singles, women’s singles, and mixed doubles. Under the men’s category, a team or squad of 3 to five players needs to be formed, and each corporate organisation is welcome to register multiple teams.

What prizes will the winning teams receive?

Beyond the competition, participants will receive a fantastic benefit: two days of training from professionals at the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy. The victors will also receive awards worth lakhs of rupees. A prize of one and a half lakh rupees has been reserved for the first-place team, one lakh rupees for the second place, and a prize of 50,000 rupees will be awarded for third place.
