Washington: Social media has been abuzz after former United States President and Republican candidate Donald Trump appeared in public without a bandage on his right ear for the first time since surviving an assassination attempt. Donald Trump met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu where it was no bandage was seen on the ear.
Social media users are debating over the shooting incident and how Trump’s wound healed so fast at a Reddit page titled ‘A miraculously cured ear’.
Superficial Scratch
Many users on the platform are calling it a superficial scratch and said that bandage was for optics.
“It was probably a superficial scratch made to bleed much easier because of blood thinners he’s on due to his age, diet and general health. That said, I don’t know if he’s on blood thinners. I’m assuming that. But the blood LOOKED super thin. The bandage was for optics. It’s more than likely simple as that,” a user wrote on Reddit.
Another user took a jibe at Donald Trump saying that that superficial wounds heal quickly
However, many users came in support of Donald Trump and said that it is a “sensitive” matter.
“This is a sensitive subject, in my opinion. 1st, we have was he or wasn’t he hit by a bullet. He was definitely hit by something, and he did bleed from it. Personally, I would prefer the Dr who worked on him. Just say what he saw and some insight,” user wrote.
Another user wrote, “Its been two weeks. And that is what a bandage is supposed to do. Protect the ear while it heals. You might as well criticize someone who just took a cast off for not having a broken leg anymore.”
What Happened on July 13 ?
Donald Trump was on stage at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania’s Butler before gunshots rang out and Secret Service agents stormed the stage, The Hill reported. The Secret Service agents surrounded the Republican candidate and escorted him off the stage, with blood visible across his face. He raised his fist towards the crowd as he was escorted away by law enforcement personnel.
According to the US Secret Service’s statement, one spectator was killed and another was critically injured and the incident is being investigated. Hours after the shooting, Donald Trump said that the bullet pierced the upper part of his ear.
