Nottingham Forest achieve four consecutive Premier League wins after nearly 30 Years

New Delhi: Nottingham Forest are leaving nobody guessing as they have done it again, this time against Tottenham. Yet another top flight win means that now they sit third in the table, just one point behind Chelsea and five points behind the leaders, Liverpool. This win against Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham side means that they have managed to win four consecutive top flight games for the first time since 1995. It is truly astounding how Nuno Espirito Santo has transformed a team who finished 17th last season,

They have already secured more points so far, than what they had in total last season and they have made their intentions clear for this campaign which is Champions League football, and dare i say, the Premier League title. The two time European champions are looking good on the pitch as their extraordinary form continued tonight against a rather underwhelming Tottenham Hotspurs. Nobody could have thought that this team would perform this well, where teams like Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham would find themselves chasing Forest.

Well that has been the case for Nuno Santo’s side and it looks like there’s no stopping them at the moment. Until now, they have only lost four times throughout the season, and the last time they lost a league fixture was back in the beginning of the month when Manchester City beat them 3-0 at Etihad. However, they have looked sharp with everything that they do on the pitch and they have showed some real intent this season to hold on to this spot.

What happened against Tottenham?

Anthony Elanga has now scored in three consecutive Premier League matches for the first time in his career 😤

Nottingham Forest displayed some quality football on the pitch to move up to third place in the Premier League rankings with a 1-0 victory over Tottenham at the City Ground. The game’s only goal came in the first half, when Anthony Elanga tapped past Fraser Forster following a great run and assist from Morgan Gibbs-White. This was the first time that he had scored in three consecutive Premier League matches. Gibbs-White had a golden chance to make it 2-0 in the second half, but Forster stayed tall to deny him.

Matz Sels who was without a doubt the player of the match was called upon by the hosts to deny Brennan Johnson several times, and Son came close with a free kick on the stroke of halftime. Forest kept their eighth clean sheet of the season, more than any other team, and as the final whistle blew, it meant that they won four Premier League games in a row for the first time since 1995. Spurs remain 11th in the Premier League table after that loss at City Ground. Forest play Everton next, while Spurs visit Wolves in their next Premier League match.

Nottingham Forest marked a historic milestone by securing four straight Premier League victories after defeating Tottenham at home, a feat they last achieved nearly three decades ago.  Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
