His similar demeanour to Shoaib Akhtar took the netizens down memory lane when a young Akhtar used to make headlines with his searing pace, breaking the timbers of the batters with thunderbolt deliveries. For Akhtar, clocking 150 kmph was a piece of cake and his hot-headed personality weighed in on his role of a strongly built and muscular pacer.
Akhtar still holds the record of bowling the fastest delivery in the history of the game which he achieved during the 2003 ODI World Cup in a Pakistan vs England match. Akhtar clocked 161.3 kmph against England’s left-handed batter Nick Knight.
