Ashwin, a great batter?

While Ashwin is mainly hailed for his spin wizardry as he entrapped the batters in his webs, many believe Ashwin to be a great and worthy batter as well. In 106 Test matches that he played for India, he smashed 14 half-centuries and six hundreds, including two overseas tons in the West Indies back in 2016.

It was an emotional moment for the Indian squad which embraced the retiring cricketer, specially the youngsters like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill who looked numb when the news struck them, thinking of getting to play a few more matches with the Chennai boy. Nonetheless, Ashwin’s vast and deep knowledge of the game can see him gracing the commentary box sooner than later.

Ravichandran Ashwin retired from international cricket on December 18, the final day of the Gabba Test. Tributes poured in for the Indian all-rounder from former players, cricket pundits, and fans alike.  Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
