New Delhi: A day after the dastardly terror attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam, Civil Aviation Ministry on Wednesday directed the airlines to ensure there is no surge in flight tickets to Srinagar and asked to maintain regular fare levels.
Following the terror attack on Tuesday, Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu held a meeting with all airline operators and strongly advised the airlines to not raise the flight tickets on the Srinagar route.
After the meeting an official advisory was issued which directed the airlines to charge regular ticket price, ensuring that no passenger is burdened during this sensitive time.
Meanwhile, airlines have also announced to operate more fights to Srinagar. Air India and IndiGo have confirmed to operate a total of four additional flights from Srinagar to Delhi and Mumbai on Wednesday. The two major airlines in the domestic sector have also waived ticket rescheduling and cancellation charges.
