New Delhi: In a shocking turn of events, a big shopping mall in Pakistan‘s Karachi was looted by locals on the day of its opening after a huge crowd turned up.
According to reports, the new mall ‘Dream Bazar’ has been built by a Pakistani foreign businessman in Karachi. On the day of its inauguration yesterday, he offered special discounts for the Pakistani locals. However, lured by the discounts being offered, thousands of people turned up and looted the mall.
Several videos of the incident have also surfaced showing a sea of people outside and inside the mall, creating a ruckus, law and order situation.
Damaged showrooms, shops, with clothes and other items were seen scattered on the floor. In one of the videos, mall security was seen pulling the crowd using a big wooden rod.
The videos show almost a stampede like situation, however, it is yet to be confirmed whether people were hurt during the incident.
