New Delhi: Team India etched its name in the history books by producing one of the most memorable performances in the history of Test cricket and in the process consolidated the top spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) table. Rohit Sharma’s men stunned the cricketing world by making the impossible possible at the Green Park Stadium, which was in the news for all the wrong reasons after only 35 overs of play in three days.
A draw looked like the most likely result when Bangladesh resumed their innings on Day 4 at 107/3 in 35 overs. Not even the most optimistic of Indian fans would have imagined what was about to transpire.
India conjured a magical display with bat and ball to leave the Bangladeshis shellshocked. Despite losing 235 overs of play with two days of a complete wash-out, India wrapped up the win in just four and a half sessions courtesy of a relentless and aggressive approach.
Left stunned by the performance of the Men in Blue, Pakistani media hailed the intent, aggression and quality of the Indian cricket team.
