New Delhi: Every year the colour industry globally announces a colour as the top colour for the upcoming year. This year also, on December 5, 2024, Pantone, the kind of colour industry will announce the ‘Colour of the Year’, from a variety of hues to choose from. The trending colours for 2025 include Purple Basil (Glidden), Mapped Blue (Dutch Boy), Cinnamon Slate (Benjamin Moore), and Rumors, a subtle ruby red shade predicted by Behr. A Pantone countdown clock offers an opportunity to guess the colour from ten different colour families.
The predicted colour sets the trend for all upcoming projects for the year 2025, such as for interior designers, fashion designers and others related to it. The colour is chosen in mind keeping a lot of factors by the experts and also by a voting system, as Pantone offers a choice to select before the countdown ends. Earlier this year, the company revealed its Colour of the Year, Peach Fuzz, describing the pinkish-coral hue as ‘a gentle and nurturing soft peach tone that embodies heartfelt kindness.’ While trends tend to shift over time, next year’s fashion forecast highlights a timeless palette of colours that are “grounded yet dynamic, representing our longing for authenticity and the spirit of joyful individualism and optimism,” according to Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute.
