The Paris Olympics 2024 is officially set to commence as the participating nations start vying for the glory that had long been preparing for. With the opening ceremony successfully concluding and giving a hint of how grand the Summer Games this year would be, all the athletes currently in the Village will begin their respective competitions starting from the group stage fixtures or qualifying rounds.
It is the years of preparation that go by to take an athlete to a global level and to represent one’s nation at the Olympics is nothing short of a miracle. The Games are humongous in size and are one of the highly revered and prestigious sporting events across the world. A total of 205 countries with one refugee team is taking part in the grand event that will last till August 11 in the French capital.
For India, the opening day has a plethora of events coming up starting with shooting where the mixed, men’s and women’s disciplines would be held. The day will proceed with tennis and table tennis on the way followed by a few badminton encounters and a men’s hockey game against New Zealand as well. The day will end with a preliminary round of boxing in the women’s category.
